Recently, I have been into watching documentaries. I guess it has to do with the fact that I feel like they're actually beneficial to my life as opposed to reality TV. But don't get me wrong, I love a good KUWTK episode to start my week. It may also have to do with the fact that I feel like I've watched all of the popular movies and TV shows on Netflix already. So I needed something else to occupy one of my many obsessions.

Documentaries are informative and interesting. Because I do watch a decent amount of movies and TV shows, I need to remind myself that these are real stories, with real people, affecting their everyday lives. And that's what I like most about documentaries - I find it fascinating to learn about other people.

Here are three documentaries I recommend and that can be found on Netflix. 1. What the Health - So this I believe is the first Netflix documentary I ever watched and I think it was a good way to start this new hobby of mine. What the Health focuses in on how the foods we eat contribute to the epidemic in diseases that many encounter. After watching, for about 2 weeks or so, I became a full on vegetarian, which was really hard for me. After those 2 or so weeks, I slowly drifted into eating meat again. Although I have not fully given up animal products, I definitely eat less of it and I'm more cautious about what I eat and where it comes from because of this documentary. I suggest you do the same!

2. Minimalism - This documentary was recommended to me by Morgan Mandriota. So Morgan, I thank you! I think everyone in the world should watch Minimalism because it is so eye opening. It will make you evaluate your purchasing behaviors and ask, "Why do I need all this stuff?", "What value does this bring to my life?", "What changes should I make to allow myself to feel happiness?" The minimalists in the documentary are extreme and they know that, but their message is something that should be taking with you for a lifetime or at least it can't hurt to try.

3. Icarus - Recommended by Michael Bello who said after watching the film that, "It was interesting to watch the domino effect and the cover up and how it impacted the Olympics."Icarus is about one single man who has a major impact on the Olympics. It's like he's two people in one human being. It uncovers deep truths about the Olympics doping scandal and after watching, you will probably find yourself on Google searching for more recent information about this mans whereabouts. Great watch!

This is my brief list to get you started because maybe you're a documentary novice watcher

like me!

"Is this useful? Boom. I realized there is a certain amount of worrying that is what I call constructive anguish, and then there's useless rumination that's just making you miserable." - Dan Harriss | Minimalism
