Yay - I'm home (in NY) to celebrate a holiday (Easter) with my family and boyfriend and to see some friends. I'm sure that's not how you thought this blog would start. Yeah, I didn't expect my home trip to start this way either.

So my childhood house is finally being renovated after years, and I mean yearrrrrs, of construction. I don't know how to feel considering the entire bottom half of the two story house is completely down to the beams which means, no kitchen, no living room, and no room to breath. To make you picture this well, I am sharing the bedroom I've had since birth, with my 27-year-old less than messy brother (love ya, Mike). I get my bed, and he gets a pull out couch that found a spot in my room due to the reno. I'm honestly shocked it all fits. I mean it barely does, but still. My room maybe has 3 feet to walk into and that's about it. Oh, and he has two dogs (of which I adore) but with the limited space, it's hard to not be bothered by the lack movement that this situation allows. When trying to get something of my draw, I need to move the pull out couch, blindly squeeze my hand in between the dresser and the draw, and hopefully grab a shirt.

You may be wondering, "how does this contribute to the laundromat?" Great question. Answer: We have no washer and dryer. And oddly, I'm not complaining.

The laundromat is like the cool place to hang on a Saturday afternoon. The owner happily greeted my mother and I, he gave us good tips on how to use the machines, and he was happy to have a solid conversation. Besides that, here's a list of reason why we shouldn't hate on laundromats.

1. Everyone is equally as miserable as you.

2. People go to the gym to get a good workout but the laundromat is just as strenuous.

3. We did 7, yes 7, loads of laundry in 2ish hours - this would have taken 14 or more at home.

4. I feel like the machines thoroughly wash and dry your clothes without destroying them.

5. They have lots of tables to nicely fold your clothes so you don't have to steal your neighbors.

6. You can't leave your clothes in the machines (because it's rude to hog them) so it forces you to get them done quickly #productive ...

7. ... And your clothes don't sit in the wash long enough to get stinky.

This might sound weird but I loved the experience. I warned you about my weirdness (who writes about laundromats?)

Side note: I can't get over that it's spelt laundromat. Maybe because I have been pronouncing it laundry mat and no one has corrected me so I had to find out on how to pronounce it via YouTube.
